The Aparoid threat is much more intense than anything Andross threw at you desperate plans are attempted and personal sacrifices are made. The story really took me by surprise, as the wider threat is even more engaging that the previous conflicts. Star Wolf, Star FoxвЂ™s nemeses from SF64, return as well, with Andrew and Pigma replaced by Panther Caruso, an Antonio Banderas-wannabe who does nothing but hit on Krystal. Peppy is basically in retirement, advising the team from the Great Fox and has been replaced in combat by Krystal. The other characters get a bit of a shake-up as well. While still a bit of a clicheвЂ™ concept, it works pretty well and is a welcome change. Shortly into the game, however, it becomes clear that the real enemy is a race of aliens known as the Aparoids, an insect-like race of insects bent on overrunning the galaxy. Taking place after the events of SFA, the story starts off with AndrossвЂ™s nephew, former Star Wolf member Andrew (who apparently gained a bit of respect between SF64 and SF:A, as heвЂ™s now referred to as Oikonny) trying to rally the last of AndrossвЂ™s army against Corneria. Finally, a Star Fox where Andross isnвЂ™t the final enemy! Yes, IвЂ™m still irritated with Rare for throwing that cheap crap into Star Fox Adventures. Remember Star Fox Adventures? When we got furry cut-rate Zelda instead of rail-shooting? *Thwap* We DONвЂ™T spend 3 years developing a game that takes steps backwards from earlier versions. We DONвЂ™T let outside developers mistreat our franchises.
